The Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for admission to their 5-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM). The IPM is a unique dual-degree program combining undergraduate (BBA equivalent) and postgraduate (MBA) studies, designed for students who have completed Class 12 and aspire to pursue management early in their careers.
Introduced first by IIM Indore in 2011, the IPM model has since been adopted by other IIMs, including IIM Rohtak, IIM Ranchi, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu, and IIM Kozhikode. The program blends foundation-level courses in economics, mathematics, social sciences, and humanities with advanced management education in the later years.
IPMAT serves as the gateway to India’s most prestigious management institutes, offering an early entry route into IIMs without needing to appear for CAT later. It tests a candidate’s aptitude in quantitative ability, verbal skills, and logical reasoning by assessing both analytical and communication strengths essential for future business leaders.
The 5-year IPM program grants students a Bachelor of Arts (Foundations of Management) or BBA, followed by an MBA, upon completion. Students also have the flexibility to exit after three years with a bachelor’s degree.

The IPMAT Indore examination will be held on May 23, 2025, and the IPMAT Rohtak examination is expected on May 18, 2025, in computer-based mode across multiple centers in India, including Bengaluru and other major cities in Karnataka.
The final admissions list will be published by July 2025, and classes for the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) will commence in August 2025.
